Industrial Property Titles (Patents, Designs, Trademarks) are subject to limited territorial validity.
This means that if, for example, a Patent for Invention is granted in Italy, the territory in which one will enjoy the Exclusive Rights will be that of the Italian State.

It is possible, within a certain limit of time starting from the application filing date, to extend the Industrial Property Title abroad in such a way as to expand the territory in which one enjoys the Exclusive Rights.

In order to extend a Patent for Invention, it is possible to claim the priority of a previous application up to 12 months from the date of filing of the first application.

In order to extend a Design it is possible to claim the priority of a previous application up to 6 months from the date of filing of the first application.

In order to extend a Trademark, it is possible to claim the priority of a previous application up to 6 months from the date of filing of the first application.

European and international patents are industrial patents that are obtained following standard procedures of filing, examination and granting.
Once the patent has been granted, it must be validated in the single Countries pursuant to national procedures.

Through our offices in Italy, Germany and Spain, we can directly provide patent extension and validation services.

Check out our new promotion for EP Validation in Spain and Italy with the same fees as for one country.
